welcome to bharris Art.
after two decades of drifting through the back offices of corporate America as auditor, business analyst, it consultant, etc., etc., i came to a day when i decided to take full responsibility for where i found myself in my life.
i dared to ask myself, "so what do i want to do with my life? what do i really and truly love?"
over the next few days, weeks, months, God/Life/the Universe, whatever you want to call it, led me to a day where i woke up and remembered, "you know what i used to love to do as a kid? draw. not design. draw. not 'apply my creativity to business.' draw."
so i did.
growing up in architecturally rich new orleans, i naturally acquired a love of all things architectural. i even obtained a masters degree in architecture from lsu, only to find out that, at the end of the day, who i "am" is much more "artist" than "architect."
it is my love of all things architectural that represent the primary focus of my drawings. in the spirit of "meeting myself where i am," at this time, i work almost exclusively in pencil or pen. while i would consider myself, by no means, a "watercolorist" at this point in my career, i am able to add "splashes of color" for those who would like to see color in their drawings. as i grow as an artist, i will more and more incorporate color theory into my work; in the meantime, however, i have found that the black and white media are, in most cases, more than adequate in capturing the spirit of my drawing subjects.
